Learn what you need to know to make the right choice for your child. Review. Rank. Request.
The Champaign Unit 4 Schools of Controlled Choice (SCC) plan gives parents of all students the opportunity to apply for admission to a variety of elementary and middle schools. The District recognizes that choosing a school is an important decision, and there are many factors to consider.
Controlled Choice:
Research the school that's best for you and your child. Consider the proximity and the waiting list when researching.
During the registration period, parents need to download the application form and drop it off at Family Information Center.
After you register, you'll need to wait a bit to see how the assignment process plays out. While we'd love to guarantee your applied for school is the one your child will attend, we cannot.

Elementary School students promote to the following Middle Schools. 5th grade Students at Booker T. Washington and Stratton participate in registration April 9-13, 2012, at the Family Information Center.

Before you register, here are some things you want to keep in mind. If you have any questions about these, or need assistance, feel free to contact us.
All applications received during the application period, regardless of date, will be processed equally.
The likelihood your child will be assigned to your school of choice is dependant on several factors. Those factors include:
Students who live close to a certain elementary school have "proximity" priority in the Schools of Controlled Choice process. Proximity does not apply to middle school registration.
Students who have a sibling attending a school are given a priority if that same school is chosen as a first preference. Priorities are considered within the guidelines of balancing socioeconomic status and seat capacity.
After siblings are assigned, the remaining seats will be filled based on the 82% Proximity A and 18% Proximity B. Controlled Choice guidelines and special program needs are also considered.
Transportation will be provided for students living more than 1.5 miles from their school assignment. In addition, the District provides transportation for students living closer than 1.5 miles if IDOT confirmed hazardous walking conditions exist between home and school.
Families who do not receive their first choice school will be placed on a waiting list for that school. The waiting list expires annually, so families must reapply during the transfer period.
